Where did Hip Hop (Dance) come from?
Hip hop is over thirty years old, and it all started with
Latino Americans creating a wide range of styles and moves, which include
breaking, locking, and popping. The most obvious difference between hip-hop
dance and other forms of dance is the moves are not always choreographed,
often, hip hop dancing consist of freestyle dance, moves that are made up on
the spot. In the 70's, most hip hop dancing was done standing up, and did not
have many floor moves.
“Remember all the fad dances we used to do back in the
80's and 90's? I'm talking about dances like the cabbage patch and the running
man. Ever wondered how those dances came about? Well... they are a form of hip
hop dance, which evolved from breaking and the funk styles.”
